Few men around the World accomplish so much in so little time; nevertheless, in Colombia only the Master Martinez Delgado managed to top the fine arts arena while becoming a major historian and humanist. He died at 47, just when his career seemed unstoppable.
Mentored by Frank Lloyd Wright, Roberto Pizano and Ruth VanSickle Ford, he won the Logan medal during the 1933 Chicago International World Fair, the gold medal in the 1940 and the first price in 1942 at the Colombian national artist room and he was given the Cruz of Boyaca, (Colombia's highest honor) for his mural at the Colombian Congress.
